Pass line
Among the many bets in craps, the Pass Line is the most popular and most commonly made bet. This bet is based on a player’s prediction of what will happen on the come out roll. If the shooter rolls a point number, the player will win, if not, the bet will lose. This bet is also referred to as betting “with” the dice. It is very easy to understand and is considered one of the most basic bets in the game.
In the game of craps, there are five point numbers: 4, 5, 6, 8, and 10. If a player places a Pass Line bet on any of these five numbers, that bet wins if the shooter rolls a point number before rolling seven. If the shooter rolls seven before rolling a point number, the bet loses.
In addition to the Pass Line, there is another bet known as the Odds bet. This bet pays out at the same odds as the Pass Line bet. The difference between the true odds and the payout is the house edge. In most casinos, a Pass Line bet is allowed to be doubled or tripled. The maximum bet on the Odds bet is usually five times the original Pass Line bet.
Another bet that is frequently made in craps is the Don’t Pass bet. This bet is similar to the Pass Line bet, but is made on the opposite side of the table. Unlike the Pass Line bet, the Don’t Pass bet has no house edge. It loses if the shooter rolls a 7, 11, or 12 before rolling a point number. It also wins if the shooter rolls a 2 or 3. However, the Don’t Pass bet loses if the shooter rolls y or n before the point number.
Pass Line bets pay out as follows: When a point number is rolled, the Pass Line bet is paid at odds of 6:5 for a point of six, or at odds of 3 to 2 for a point of nine or five. The pass line bet is a line bet, which means the space in which the bet is placed is narrow. It is also self-service, which means there is no need to get involved with the dealer. The pass line area is a large, narrow bar that encloses the other bets on the table.
The Odds bet is a similar bet to the Pass Line bet, but has no house edge. It is usually placed after a point has been established. The odds bet is paid out at true odds. The difference between the true odds and the amount paid out is the house edge. In some casinos, the house edge on the Odds bet is zero. However, the house edge is 0.42% per roll for a Pass Line bet.
The Pass Line and Odds bets are the only bets in the game of craps that are even money. This means that the house edge is small and the house does not take any commission from the bets. In addition, the Pass Line and Odds bets offer some of the lowest odds in the game.
